Amidah Albany Event

Sunday, February 23rd; 1:00 pm at the Albany JCC

Amidah Albany, in partnership with the Sidney Albert Albany JCC, welcomes the public to an event with Josh Levs, award-winning broadcast journalist and host of the podcast They Stand Corrected, which fact checks the news. Mr. Levs, who grew up in Delmar and attended Bethlehem Central High School, spent 20 years on NPR and CNN, where he became lead on-air fact checker.

In this timely conversation with Amidah, Mr. Levs will discuss concrete proof of anti-Israel bias in the media, including rules news agencies follow that require negative portrayals of the Jewish state. Through his podcast and newsletter, Levs is fighting for truth and demanding it be given a larger place in society. The Elie Wiesel Foundation says, “They Stand Corrected is an important contribution to understanding how media bias has turned too many otherwise thoughtful and informed individuals against the Jewish people.”

This event is sponsored by lifelong activist and community leader Herm Ungerman. Mr. Ungerman calls on the community “to speak openly and proudly about our Jewish heritage and Israel, and to know that we exist because of our strength, resilience and love for one another.” We hope everyone will join Amidah, the Albany JCC and Mr. Ungerman at this important event.

Space is limited, and attendees must register through the link at www.amidahalbany.com/events

Amidah Albany was founded in the wake of the October 7, 2023 massacre in Israel, in response to local rising antisemitism. Their goals are to support and stand up for the Jewish community in the Capital Region and beyond. They encourage their supporters to fight against the misinformation and misrepresentation of Israel and the Jewish people that is rampant on social media, and share tools to empower the community to stand strong against the resulting antisemitism.
